Upland Hills EAC Community
The EAC community includes board
members and other volunteers who offer countless hours to promote the
EAC mission, a growing staff, and over 3,500 email/newsletter

Board Members
Jill Hollowell, Board President
Jill
Hollowell holds a B.A. in Education with a minor in Science and is
currently on staff at the Clinton River Watershed Council. From 1996-99,
Jill was Development Coordinator for the Neuro-Muscular Institute at
Providence Hospital where she organized large fundraising events as well
as professional conferences for ancillary service practitioners working
with special needs children. Jill also serves as President of the UHEAC
Board of Directors. She has coordinated numerous energy education
outreach presentations in the community.
Lori Pinkleton, Board Vice President
Dan Kosuth, Board Secretary
Dan
lives in Metamora, MI with his wife of 18 years, Colleen Cavanagh, and
their two sons, Charlie, 16, and Michael, 12. Dan is a self-employed
carpenter and licensed builder (Twin Oaks Carpentry, Inc.). He holds a
bachelor of arts in English literature from Oakland University. He is a
member of the Birmingham Unitarian Church, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Nature Association, Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, WDET, and chair of
the Green Sanctuary Committee at BUC. he enjoys canoeing, backpacking,
cross-country skiing, gardening and his classic British roadster, MGC.
Dan has been a UHEAC Board member since June, 2003 and is the
President-elect. Dan has taken responsibility for facility maintenance
and upgrades, and oversaw the recent rehab of the EAC exterior.
Greg
Domka, Board Member
Greg
Domka graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from General
Motors Institute and attained an M.S. in Business from the University of
Detroit. He has worked as an engineer for General Motors and later
ventured in to the tier on automotive supply base, holding positions as
vice-president, account manager, and business manager. In 2001, Greg
started a successful energy efficiency contracting company, employing up
to 11 people and attained sales of $2 million . In 2005, he sold the
company to a key employee. Currently, he is operating a construction
management and land development business, and acting a project manager
for the Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center. Greg joined the Board
of Directors of UHEAC in July 2008. He as been interested in
sustainable lifestyles and businesses for over ten years. Greg is the
ReBuild MI grant manager, leading our efforts to reduce energy use in
local commercial and public buildings.
Staff
John Batdorf, Executive Director
John Batdorf graduated from MSU with a B.S. in Psychology with high
honors. He worked as a fundraiser, retail store manager, and national
sales director before founding a healthcare computer systems company in
1987. John designed the company’s nationally-acclaimed physician,
managed care, and mental health software and developed innovative
marketing, service, and employee compensation programs. The company grew
to 10 employees and 1.3 million in sales before
it was sold in 2000. Since that time, John has worked as a consultant, “green” entrepreneur
and served on the EAC board for over two years. He is
currently the Executive Director. He was the manager of the first
three Earth Day Expos held at Oakland University and the last two Energy Choices conferences.
His passions are to extend the reach of the EAC through major events and
to promote economic sustainability and justice.
Clifford Sholz, Education Coordinator
Cliff Scholz is UHEAC’s Education Outreach Coordinator and has designed many of
its materials and presentations. Cliff is a gifted educator, able to make energy
and ecological issues simple, relevant and fun for all ages.
Clark Tibbits, Conference Program Manager
Clark Tibbits founded and manages an environmental demonstration
project, The Land Stewardship Center (http://glblc.lapeer.org/tibbits.htm),
on his family farm in Lapeer County. He has an MBA from Harvard
University and has worked as a lecturer/administrator/consultant at
several universities, as a planner/promoter of central city
redevelopment in Asheville (NC) and Flint, and as a technical adviser to
sustainable agricultural projects in Africa and Central America.
Chris Tarr, Educator, Energy Conference Volunteer
Coordinator
Chris Tarr has been actively involved with the Center for the past 18
years serving on the Board of Directors for about 7 years, most recently
as President. She has also served extensively on the Program Committee
and has designed and facilitated many ecology-related programs and
workshops over the years. She holds a B.A. in Education with a minor in
Math/Science and has taught in public school for over 13 years. In the
past several years, she has been working diligently to expand the
Center’s Energy Education program and components, training docents,
upgrading the Energy Tour and working with the Center’s Energy Committee
to coordinate an upgrade of the Center’s renewable energy systems. Chris
also organized the first three conferences on sustainable energy hosted
by UHEAC.

The EAC has over 150 Individual and 100
Business Members who generous contributions support our work. Please

Volunteers
Volunteers fulfill a vital role at the
EAC. They staff events, help with work days and promote the EAC. If you
