Energy Tours & Seminars
Located in rural Oxford, the Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center is a
one-of-a-kind facility that demonstrates many examples of renewable energy,
energy-efficiency and ecological design principles in action. We provide both
on-site tours, or we will come to you for off-site presentations that include
interactive, multi-media and hands-on demonstrations. Tailored for both adult
and youth groups, tours and presentations are designed to help individuals:
Discover many energy efficient and renewable energy design features of the
center
Learn lots of simple, inexpensive ways to save energy and $$$
Understand the impact of our energy choices on our society and environment
Explore fascinating possibilities for powering the future
Energy Tours/Presentations typically last 1 1/2 to 2 hours but can be
customized to fit the time needs of your group. See pricing

Teacher Information
We will tailor programs appropriately to
academic levels elementary through college. Our programs are designed to help
students:
Explore the many ways energy touches our daily lives
Discover many unique energy-wise features of the Center
Understand such topics as renewable energy, energy efficiency, green
building, and green power
Build energy literacy and inspire sustainable energy practices
Explore fascinating possibilities for powering the future

Scouting Groups Information
Attention Girl Scouts!
We are currently offering
Eco-Action Badge Workshop days. Please call the
Center to make arrangements for your Troop of 8 or more.
Through observation and hands-on learning Scouts will learn about energy, the
environment and how to take action. They will:
Start their own "Eco-Action Club"
Discover many energy efficient and renewable energy design features of the
Center
Learn to do a home Energy Audit
Learn about Jane Goodall "A champion of the environment"
Become water-wise
Workshops last 2 hours. Cost is $5.00 per scout / adults free (Badge is not
supplied). Group size limited to 30 scouts. Advance registration required!
Attention Boy Scouts! Interested in earning your Energy Merit Badge?
We have a certified Energy Merit Badge counselor who would be happy to work with
you or your patrol / troop.
